Thanks to the Shandon Neighborhood Council!

The Shandon Neighborhood Council gave us a generous grant to hold public makers classes.

We held three classes: Wooden Spoon Carving, Bookmaking by Hand, and Cabinet Making.

The registration list quickly filled up for each class and attendees had a great time.

We want to continue to hold classes. Please contact us if you are a maker or craftsperson who would like to share your skills!

Today we had a waxed canvas tool rolls class. Ben from Skardi Woodworking dropped by and made himself a tools roll. Check out his website: https://skardiwoodworking.square.site/. He also has a booth at the Soda City on Saturdays on Main St. so you can meet him there and check out some of his work!

Soda City Excitement!!

We set up an info table at the Soda City Farmers Market on Main St. last Saturday and it was a big success! We got lots of interest from people with many different maker backgrounds. Several new members, too!

We plan to be there again at the end of October with live demonstrations of lathe turning, 3D printing, and maybe ceramics. Come out and see us!

Clean up day was a success

We did major cleaning last Saturday! We cleaned, we organized, we threw stuff out! Thanks to all who came. The space is looking better than ever! There is a list on the table in the lounge if you want to come by and add to our efforts. On Wednesday, we'll re-arrange the furniture in the lounge.

Come join us for a clean up day! We voted to have it Saturday, September 21 at 10 am. Probably will order lunch if people want. Tasks listed below. Whatever we can't finish, we can at least plan for. This is a great way to meet your fellow makers and get to know the space.

Painting in lounge
Hallway paneling
Mount the hall light switch in a better location
Get folding tables
Move the small couch out and re-arrange - Alex
Clean the metal shop, paint inside the fume hood
Finish and paint the arcade
Replace ceiling tiles in wood shop
