We are getting into DIY plastic recycling with our order of the shredder kit from Precious Plastic!
It should be here in a few weeks. We also need a big, slow motor to drive it, so look around your junk piles. Here is the link After we get the shredder going, we will build the injection molder. Thanks to Wray for the fundraising!!!

I am working on a vacuum forming project similar to this one:
Vacuum Forming I am building the heater box and vacuum table this week and have plastic and a quartz heater on order We've had a lot of interest in tours lately. I will be in the shop tomorrow, Wednesday Nov 20 from 6-8 pm playing with the lathe and scroll saw. If you want a tour or if a member wants training, just come by or email [email protected] so I can let you in.
A huge thanks to our awesome member who built this great enclosure for our printers and laser cutter. Each pipe has a DIY butterfly valve to control airflow. Yet to be added is a fan to the exhaust louver. Great work!
I needed a small table for my laptop. I built this in about 10 minutes at the makerspace out of scrap wood. I will sand down the bottoms of the legs, after it dries, to make it sit level. The blue tape is to keep the glue from leaking out where the spade bit poked through. I will take it off when the glue dries
We worked with the lathe the other day. I think the blank I was using had some bad grain, so I made some blanks out of 1-inch pine to practice on.
We tested a couple donated items. The air compressor is really loud, so wear ear protection. Also, drain the water out when you are done. Compressing air drives the moisture out and it collects in the tank.
The sewing machine works very smoothly. It only does straight stitches |
