Autocad Fusion 360 is a CAD program that is free for hobbyists. I used it to design an enclosure for my CNC machine at home. All of the parts (plywood and foam) are rectangles of various sizes. There are 30 pieces and writing down the dimensions of 30 rectangles would be boring.
So, I found a free plug-in to export a parts list with dimensions. Then I found a free program to layout the parts on the stock plywood and foam sheets. The program samples a million possibilities to find the most efficient layout. It was written by Gary Darby and is on the Delphi for Fun page. Here are the links/files: Parts list Fusion plugin CSV-BOM Cut list program You have to re-arrange the CSV-BOM layout a little, then open the text file in the cut list program. Here is the text file. "Required" is a list of the parts you need. "Available" is a list of the stock available. "Decimalseparator." may not be needed, not sure ### Decimalseparator.
